THIRTY YEARS OF EXPERTISE
Among my sustainability efforts, I have created hundreds of award-winning, sustainable, and native landscapes that reduced landowners’ work and increased the value of their asset. My book Beautifully Sustainable lays out the basics.

These are the documented results of shifting to native landscapes:

-
You eliminate chemicals that are toxic to you & other lifeforms
-
You save cost as well as time and repetitive hard work
-
You increase soil and water quality
-
You get to enjoy rebounding numbers of wildlife on your property.
While my practice and experience has focused on the Upper Midwest, these ecological principles apply everywhere.

"Our ability to perceive quality in nature begins, as in art, with the pretty. It expands through successive stages of the beautiful to values as yet uncaptured by language."

FOR THE TINY CREATURES IN THE SOIL ON UP TO THE TREETOPS
We transform landscapes from drug-dependent green rugs to habitats that sustain life. Our human destruction of natural areas endangers the whole range of these lives and their ability to sustain themselves and us. We must break the barriers to healthy land use that proliferate our outdated suburban [and agricultural] models.

THE ASSET-VALUE OF A NATIVE-DOMINATED PROPERTY INCREASES
I get more satisfaction, though, from my clients’ joy in what their partnership with nature has created. Sometimes those who were most resistant end up the most boastful.

My own surprise on my path is how the results can convert a doubter to an ardent ecological evangelist.
